Anything Over SONET (AOS) Module
The SONET (Synchronous Optical Network) protocol has gained great acceptance throughout the telecom, datacom and military communications worlds. Unfortunately, many legacy devices do not support the SONET protocol.
SA Photonics’ “Anything over SONET” Module can wrap a SONET frame around any customer-supplied data stream without having to know anything about the data stream itself. In this way, customers can realize the advantages of SONET transmission in current and future communications networks, without having to sacrifice proprietary data formats, expose data encryption, or pay for expensive retrofits to existing legacy hardware.
