Steering Mirror Control Systems
SA Photonics has developed a state of the art fast steering mirror control system. This system is capable of 5 micro-radian accuracy at update rates of up to 1 kHz, all using a mirror sense system with no moving parts.
The speed and accuracy of SA Photonics’ fast steering mirror sense and control system enables it to be used in Advanced Missile Defense LADAR Seekers, where it has a ten times better pointing accuracy compared to current approaches and provides a five times improvement in steering speed.
The high bandwidth (100 kHz) control loop allows our mirror control system to be used as a jitter control system for laser communication. This jitter control system nulls out vibration in space or airborne platforms to ensure high bandwidth connectivity between assets such as satellites and UAVs.
